Got loads of calls from the same number. Finally picked up and it was obviously a scammer from the Philippines. They talked about your computer having a virus and all that typical nonsense. The person sounded really clueless! Anyways, you can mess around with them pretending to play along but definitely dont let them near your PC! If you can, just block the number and be done with it.

Got a call from 0151 928 0076 today, 12/4 at 11:08, but no one spoke. Earlier, I had a call from 01279 72229 with the same silence. Feels like they’re checking who’s picking up at what times, probably before sending out fake Microsoft or BT Openreach calls. My advice: keep a list of all suspicious numbers and use it as proof if these scammers ever get nabbed. Also, make sure to warn your mates and family about these dodgy calls so they don’t fall for it! A mate of mine lost £85 to fake Microsoft techs about five years ago and never saw that cash again.

Got a ring from this number and 01863 300016 too. The 01863 one said they were from TPS but this other one just cut off straight away. Normally I’d mess about and keep them on the line playing some radio music for ages. All these numbers are now blocked on my phone.

Some bloke with an accent rang up saying there was an issue with my PC. I asked him which Windows version I was running. Then when they ring again, I just hold my phone next to the TV speaker and let them babble away at the noise for a few mins. When those "you’ve had an accident" types call, I play along and say yeah, I did have one, keeping them on the line for a while. Eventually, I tell them it was a lorry that hit me, and I got decapitated and died straight away. Weirdly, they always cut off after that!

Total computer scam. He convinced me to open eventvwr and then started telling me my PC was full of issues (it’s not, eventvwr always looks dodgy but it’s fine). He insisted that I had downloaded some nasty viruses through my emails and needed to get into my computer. Got a call from a woman with a strong accent saying she was tech support for my computer system. When I asked where she was calling from, she said "Coventry" but the number had a 0151 code, which is actually Liverpool! I then asked for the full address of her Coventry branch so we could do our "usual security check". She kept going with her usual spiel, but I just kept asking about the office address. Got a call today at 11:16 from a bloke with an accent, said he was with Technical Support and my computer was at risk. Didn’t let him finish. Told him he was lying about where he was calling from and accused him of trying to scam me. Ended the call quick. Tried ringing back but the number wasn’t valid or something.

Got a call from a bloke with a funny accent, saying there was something wrong with my computer - I asked which exactly, and he replied "the Microsoft one!!" Had a good laugh messing with him for a bit then hung up!!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying my PC’s got an issue. Asked what kind of issue? He said it hasn’t had updates for months. I told him to jog on. If over 6,700 folks have checked this number and it’s still buzzing, then Who Called Me ain’t doing anything to block these annoying calls.

Got a call from a polite woman with an Asian accent claiming my computer was in serious danger and needed fixing right away. She told me to turn my computer on and she'd sort out the security issues. Lucky for me I wasn't daft and just let her drone on until she gave up and ended the call. Obviously, I never bothered switching on my computer for her at all.

Got a call earlier today from someone claiming they were from a computer firm, saying there was an issue with my PC. He spoke with an Asian accent and even said my name! I told him I don't own a computer and he just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got called by one of those "your computer's got issues" types again. Was hoping for a bit of fun winding her up, but she hung up quicker than it took me to take my jacket off! I never just end these calls straight away, I like to keep them talking by acting daft and gullible. It's so funny and really wastes their time.

I just removed some numbers from my blocked list, and this one rang me twice - no one spoke on the line, just silence. Put it straight back on block. Planning to report it to the ICO. Everyone should really do the same, maybe if we all pitch in, they’ll actually take some action.

Got a call to my mobile on the 17th of March, 2018 around 11:09 in the morning. It barely rang before they hung up. Didn’t answer since I didn’t know the number. Decided to search it here and found loads of warnings. Big thanks to everyone sharing info here, but seriously, why do they get away with it? Can’t anyone do something to track and stop these calls?

I got a call from a guy who sounded Asian and said his name was David. He claimed to be from tech support and wanted to talk about my computer. I told him I don’t even have a computer, and he just hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam and sounds quite risky.

It's clear these are a bunch of con artists! When you pick up, try responding with “International Cyber Crime Agency” and ask if they're looking to report a fraudulent incident. They tend to hang up pretty quickly, and I suspect your number will get tossed from their list, which they share among themselves. Give it a go; it might just fend them off!
