Got a call from a woman with a typical Indian accent, used a made-up name and started with a bubbly hello before jumping right into that HMRC scam line. I hung up, only to get called again about ten minutes later, this time by a man also with an Indian accent claiming he was from HMRC. I let him go through his usual spiel, then told him I’d already received my “fake” refund and was actually in Turkey having dental work and a tummy tuck done. Blocked that number fast. Total scam!
