Got a call from someone named 'James Smith' claiming I was involved in a small accident in the past couple of years and everything was sorted out. The bloke was really pushy tho, which was a bit off-putting. Would’ve been funny otherwise. Blocked him straight away!!!

They rang a police phone and I told them I was an officer working and asked how I could assist. Then they said they’d report me to the cops for faking it. But honestly, I really am a police officer.

They asked for me straight away. I told them they’d rung a company line and asked which department she was from. She said she’d try ringing her on her private phone. I’ve blocked the number now.

I got a call from a firm named "Road care" saying I've been in an accident within the past two and a half years. They were really vague and couldn’t provide any specific details or explain what the call was about. The accent didn't sound British at all, even though it came from a UK number. When I asked where they had my details from, they mentioned a company called "Verve Media" claimed I’d agreed to get calls like this. Best to just ignore these calls.

Got a call just now from someone saying they were "Road Care" and that my car insurance needed sorting. Thing is, I don’t even have a car. Had a quick look on company house and there’s no record of a Road Care business. Anyone knows how I can report these lot?

This number has rung me loads in the past few weeks, but when I pick up and say hello, there’s no reply. I've noted it down and labelled it as s###, so now I’m ready whenever it rings again :@) I reckon they might be hoping I ring back, and I’ve heard it might be expensive, but I've never called them so I’m not too sure.

They rang me about some crash I supposedly had. I played along, asking what cash I might be entitled to from this made-up accident. Told them I’d just come out of jail after 20 years and was moved between prisons last week. Asked them how much I’d get. To my surprise, they just ended the call! (None of it was true, but it was great fun to mess with them. In reality, I’m a 78-year-old widow who’s never been behind the wheel!)

They first asked me to confirm my name, then claimed they were calling about a 'small accident that caused damage to my car' within the last two years which was supposedly mentioned in my latest insurance update. I just renewed my insurance not long ago, but there hasn’t been any incidents at all. Told them they had the wrong info and hung up.

I didn’t pick up cos I’ve no one in Liverpool, but weirdly I got this call soon after joining an O2 priority contest (hadn’t had any dodgy calls for ages before that). Definitely a lesson learnt.

Some bloke rang me, wanted me to verify my name which I did, then started asking about some insurance claim for a crash from 2017 I was meant to be involved in. I kept telling him I never had any accident, a few times over, and then he just hung up. Total SCAM!

Honestly, the smartest way to handle these callers, who clearly just dial numbers blindly from some enormous list, is to pretend you haven’t got a clue about what they’re on about and challenge every single thing they say. After enough hassle, they might just give up this pointless “job” and maybe look for something more useful instead. No need to be rude or anything, just keep asking them to explain every little bit that sounds off or suspicious. Every bit.

Really forceful and quite rude, kept insisting I shouldn’t sign up for anything regarding a car crash from the past 2.5 years, even though I’ve got money they say I’m owed. I told them my car accident was already sorted, but then they got their “manager” on the line, trying to push me to hear about the £3k supposedly waiting for me. I just hung up. Best to steer clear of this number.

I picked up and the person immediately asked for a Bridget Kelly, like they usually do. I said it wasn’t me, then they started asking about my phone number and how long I’d had it. I told them I wasn’t comfortable sharing that info, but they kept pushing for an answer. So I just said I was 12 (actually I’m 14 but can sound younger). They didn’t really seem bothered and kept trying to get details about how long I’ve had the number. I ended up just hanging up.
