9 yearsGot a call at my place in Withington, Manchester, at 18:33 on 9th August 2017 - well past usual working hours! The phone rang four times then switched to answer machine, but no message was left. The caller ID showed a Liverpool number, 0151 705 9497, yet my BT landline flagged it as an “international” call. How much longer is BT going to stand for this misuse of their network? I wonder if 10 Downing Street gets hit with fake calls as often as the rest of us? If not, how do they manage to keep their lines clean? Cheers, Rob.WithingtonManchesterLiverpoolBTDowning StreetRob9 yearsGot a call earlier asking if my Hotpoint washing machine was running smoothly - which is weird cos I don’t own a Hotpoint. They somehow knew my name and postcode, but the washing machine here isn’t even registered under me. The caller hung up fast without explaining what it was all about. Quite strange!9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be about a Hotpoint that was less than 8 years old. They even mentioned my postcode and name. When I asked how they knew all that, the line just went dead. The voice sounded Indian. Really strange.9 yearsGot a call from this number earlier. Some lady with a thick Indian accent asked if she was speaking to me, then started quizzing me about my washing machine. I told her I actually have two, so which one did she mean? She just snapped ‘oh, go to hell’ and then cut the call. Bit rude, if you ask me.9 yearsI received a rather peculiar call from a rather brash lady, who seemed to be from India. She kept pestering me for my personal and banking information. After asking about my age, she bizarrely transitioned into a chat about washing machines! It felt like a complete con. I sincerely hope someone puts a stop to this nonsense!India9 yearsGot a call claiming to be from Hotpoint, asking if I have a Hotpoint or Bosch washing machine. They mentioned my name and checked if I still lived where I do. When I asked what the call was actually for, they said something about defects in Hotpoint machines and then just hung up. Tried calling the number back but it said it wasn't in service. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.HotpointBosch9 yearsWhen I mentioned that the washing machine wasn’t mine and I didn’t know its age since my parents had purchased it, he rudely referred to me as a foolish bint.9 yearsGot a call saying it was from overseas, total rubbish and just a scam. What a waste of time, reckon it’s illegal too.Submit Your Own Report (0151 705 9497)
