Got a call from someone saying they were with TPS, but they had a strong African accent and loads of background noise like a call centre. They asked me to verify my name and phone number. Nah, no way I’m giving out info like that, so I just hung up straight away. I’ve now added this number to my BT block list through 1572.

Got a call around half past eight in the morning, some voice asking if I was Mr Chapman. Could hear loads of noise like a call centre in the background. I've had dodgy calls before where they asked for the same name, so I just ended the call straight away!

I got a call right around the typical scam hour. Picked up and just heard silence for a bit, then the line went dead. Definitely sounds like a scam. The number was from Liverpool, I think?

Got a call claiming to be from the telephone preference service. Told them to stop messing about and quickly ended the call. Blocked the number right away.

Got a call from a guy who didn’t even speak English properly, sounded like one of those scam calls trying to trick you out of info. Total rubbish.

someone rang me saying they were from the telephone preference service and told me the service was ending the next day. when i asked them to repeat who they said they were with, the call suddenly dropped. the number wasn’t local and you could hear loads of background noise like a busy call centre.

I got a call from some guy with an Asian accent named Danny, who claimed he was with the telephone preference service. He said my contract was up and offered to help me get it sorted again. Then he began asking about how I pay my bills, but when I told him I wasn’t going to share any money details, he just ended the call.

I noticed they hang up as soon as you pick up. Seems like they're calling loads of people at the same time and someone else might get to the phone first. What you can do is let it ring a bit before you answer, that way you avoid wasting time listening to their nonsense.
