Got a call from this number two times within five minutes but it was dead quiet both times, no one talking or anything.

01520 470096 rang me saying they were from SKY tech support and said there was an issue with my internet. They asked to access my computer remotely but I told them I don’t have any devices that connect to the internet. Then they just cut the call. Seems very dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were HMRC, said I was under a tax investigation. They told me to press '1' or I'd get arrested and taken to court. I didn’t press anything. I know my tax stuff well and always hear from HMRC by letter first. If you get one of these calls, check with your accountant before doing anything.

This is TOTALLY FAKE. Im 44, a gay woman with no kids, living in the Wirral and registered with MARAK as a domestic abuse survivor. I know every Wirral Council number off by heart, from puppy training to fire safety and even crafts like making caterpillars out of egg boxes. This one is NOT from Wirral Council. It’s a scam trying to steal your phone number if you ring back xx

Got a call from a supposedly "safe" number with MM at the end. Over 6,800 folks have looked it up though, so I’m not convinced it’s actually safe. Feels more like one of those cold calls or a scam to me!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Wirral Borough Council about safety rules for bouncy castles. They wanted to confirm our business address to send new guidelines about hiring inflatable and soft play stuff safely. Looks like the HSE is cracking down on this, so it might be some agency ringing for the council about various concerns.
