definitely not someone i’m familiar with, so i just tell them it’s a private line, don’t give anything away and swiftly end the call. this time though, they just hung up which is fair enough. some folks might be tempted to call back but not me - you could end up getting stung with some costly premium charges. cheers to everyone else who shared their experiences. steer clear of these calls and ignore the nonsense, especially if it’s from that numpty on tv who tries so hard to be funny but isn’t. basically, just don’t pick up if this number rings.

Got a call from this number on the 17th of Nov, 2015, but since I don’t know anyone in Liverpool and the number was unfamiliar, I ignored it. Then, just to see what was up, I phoned back from work today but there was no ring or answer at all. Definitely seems like one of those annoying nuisance calls.

Got a call from some lot in Liverpool claiming to be lawyers. They told me their name, and I told them I don't deal with ambulance chasers. They sounded proper confused and asked me what that meant. Hilarious!

Got a call from this number just now (19:32), they actually asked for me by name. When I asked who was on the line, they just hung up straight away! I've noticed 14 missed calls from them over the past couple of weeks. I've been wracking my brains trying to figure out which company I might have shared my number with, but nothing comes to mind. The only one I’m certain about is STARWARS THE OLD REPUBLIC, no idea about the rest!

I’ve been dealing with this as well, and I reckon it’s down to my details being shared illegally after I used those price comparison sites. If you’re getting calls like this, I’d definitely recommend contacting the Information Commissioner’s Office here in the UK. These firms are incredibly annoying, but what bugs me more is the fact price comparison websites seem to be giving away our info without permission, which is: 1) breaking UK data protection laws and 2) just downright frustrating.

So, this supposed insurance firm said they had my info from The National Accident Helpline - which, funny enough, doesn’t even exist. I've blocked and reported this number but they keep coming back. Even though my call blocker stops the calls, I still get texts saying I missed a call from them, which is super annoying. These scammers are driving me mad. What annoys me even more is finding out that my info has been shared with them without me agreeing to it. I work in insurance for my family's brokerage, so if anything happened, we'd handle it ourselves rather than going through some random third party. I told them to remove my number and leave me alone about three months ago, but clearly that hasn’t happened. I really wish there was a proper way to take legal action against these pests.
