I got a recorded call from a woman’s voice, sounded local, saying she was from BT. She told me someone had been accessing my broadband from overseas and warned me to update my antivirus before going online again or risk having my info stolen. They asked me to press 1 for more info. I pressed it, which maybe wasn’t smart, and the call just dropped. I spoke to the real BT afterwards and they told me the call wasn’t from them and was likely a scam. They said they’d look into it and block the number, which I’ve also blocked myself now.
