It's baffling how they get hold of your phone number - I never fill out surveys or use comparison websites! It seems these firms are cashing in by sharing our info with who knows who. Wish data protection laws actually stopped this, because passing on your details feels like it should be illegal. So, this firm 'Moneysavers' gave me an automated call claiming they can reduce 70% of my debts thanks to some government rules. I work as an Operations Director for a big DEMSA regulated organisation, so I had to check how that’s even possible. When I asked them where they had got my phone number, they said from a survey, which is strange because I’m pretty sure I never take part in any surveys. Then I asked to speak with the sales manager because the sales team was awful, but of course they said he wasn’t available. When I kept pushing to get through, the caller just hung up on me. It’s companies like these that really ruin the reputation of the whole sector and make life harder for those who are genuinely trying to help.

Today I got a call from this number but as soon as I picked up, they just hung up. No clue why they’d do that. Anyway, took a tip from another comment and set up a contact named JUNK. So any dodgy calls I get from now on, I’ll save under that name. If they keep ringing, I’ll know straight away they're just junk calls. Smart move, honestly. If everyone did this, those calls would just end up unanswered and those annoying callers would be wasting their time for nothing.
