One of the callers had an accent that seemed to suggest Indian origins yet was introducing himself with a very typically British name. It turns out my husband was drawn into their deceit and foolishly allowed them to install some dodgy software on our computer during a follow-up call. After doing a bit of research online, we discovered it was all a ruse, promptly got rid of the unfamiliar software, and ensured that our online security was up to scratch.
