Got a call on my landline from 01515285468 and the bloke said he was with the government. He claimed someone had reported me and that there was an insurance claim filed against me. Felt it was dodgy, so I hung up straight away.

SCAM ALERT! I replied to their message claiming I was due a tax refund, but then they started asking for my credit card info to supposedly sort it out. The person sounded like they were speaking from some overseas call centre. When I asked for the first line of my own address to verify they were legit, they said it was “against the rules.” I told them where to go. Honestly, some of these folks are just pure scum! Stay sharp out there everyone, don’t let these con artists catch you out.

I got a call from a bloke who said he was with the HMRC, real pushy and threatening to take court action over some unpaid debts. Something felt off, so I quizzed him a bit and it was obvious he hadn’t a clue about my tax stuff. When I called him out for being a con and told him to stop wasting my time, he started threatening me, saying people would come knocking at my door. Then he just hung up. Proper stressful and scary experience.

Got a call from this number saying they were from the tax office, asking for my card info including the security digits on the back. It seemed like the call was being forwarded to India. I decided to feed them fake details just to see what they’d do next. As soon as I gave them the info, they started probing more about the card, clearly trying to access my bank straight away. I didn’t hold back and told them off for bothering me, making it very clear not to ring me again. I've since blocked the number on my iPhone. BEWARE!!!

Got a missed call and checked the voicemail later. It was one of those automated messages that definitely didn’t sound like it came from HMRC - I know their style well enough to spot the difference. Totally a scam, no doubt about it.
