Just when I thought I was done, I get another call from what they say is Stoke-on-Trent 01782 376494. I got a bit chuffed telling their 'Tech Supervisor' I own 17 laptops, but then he goes on about their system showing 22! Well, looks like I’ve misplaced 5 somewhere - wonder if they can sort that out as well!

I had about four calls in just half an hour from women with Indian accents claiming they were from Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my broadband and router. I wasn’t in the mood to keep them chatting, because it felt like a setup for some sort of scam. The caller ID showed a Liverpool number, but it was clear they were just routing through a call centre. The other numbers that came up included 0116 026 8662, pretending to be Leicester, 03407 615219 from West Bengal, and 0611 963 4915 which traced back to Bihar, India.
