Got a call from a firm claiming my Windows was showing issues and they could fix it. They took control of my PC, then demanded cash to sort the problem. When I refused to pay, they wiped my entire computer. Honestly, it felt like a proper ransom deal. Stay vigilant!

I received a rather dubious call on my mobile from 0151 512 5824, and it quickly became apparent that they were up to no good. The conversation kicked off with them claiming my Windows was malfunctioning, which they used as a ruse to gain access to my computer. They pressed me to power up my device and log into several applications. Naturally, I decided to humour them (without actually turning on my machine) just to see how far they'd stretch their deception. However, whenever I inquired about their name and the company they represented, all I got back was "Shelly from Windows." The moment I mentioned that I was recording the interaction, they abruptly terminated the call. It's alarming how these scams operate; they’re extremely risky!

I keep getting calls on my work mobile from different numbers, but when I answer it's just silence or an automated voice saying I've dialled the wrong number. It's pretty annoying and I've had to keep blocking them every time they ring.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from Microsoft, trying to fix a bunch of problems she said were on my laptop. I told her straight up that I knew she wasn’t legit, and when she asked who told me that, I just said I could tell by myself. Then, she just hung up on me.
