2 yearsI got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying I'd been wrongly charged £139 for a fridge-freezer. When I asked which appliance, she repeated it was the fridge-freezer and said she'd put me through to the accounts team to sort out my "refund." Pretty clear they were fishing for my bank info to rob me. I told her she and her mates were terrible people, but she didn’t really get it. So I just said they were trying to scam vulnerable folks out of their savings. Then she just hung up on me. Watch out for these dodgy calls!2 yearsThis number ending in 4260 just wont stop calling me, no matter how many times I block it. They keep ringing trying to convince me to give my account info for some bogus refund on an overpayment. Already posted about it before. Even after telling them off good and proper, they keep at it. Honestly, why do telcos even lease these number blocks to such scammers? They’re just as much to blame in my eyes!2 yearsGot a call about some tv repair insurance ive never signed up for. When I asked for the company’s name, the caller, who had a foreign accent, refused to say. It felt dodgy, so I ended the call. They tried ringing back saying there was a payment of £160 for a three-year plan, supposedly already a year in, then said cancelling would cost £90. When I rang the number they gave me, it just played a long, never-ending automated message with no company details. This is definitely a scam, don’t fall for it.2 yearsI’ve been plagued by this Liverpool number, which seems to belong to a dodgy crew that keeps changing their digits across various local area codes. They go by names like “Zee,” “Vee,” and “Dee,” and are all tangled up in a home appliance insurance con. It’s absurd - I block one number only for them to pop up again from some other part of the UK. I've even noticed calls coming through from places like Glasgow and Bala in north Wales! It’s a chap and a lady, both with strong Indian accents, and believe it or not, I can identify their voices by now. The woman constantly probes about your appliances and ends every sentence with “Right?” The last time they rang was at 09:59 on the 20th of August 2024, using a slightly different number (0151 4584242), which I’ve reported as well.
