I had a rather alarming phone call earlier today, supposedly from my bank's fraud hotline. They were warning me about some hefty and suspicious withdrawals happening from my account. The automated voice prompted me to either press 1 to halt these transactions or choose an option to chat with a representative. Quite unsettling, really!

The usual crowd, it seems! Another round of con artists with their debt management nonsense. They’re quick to ask for your bank info while assuring you they won’t take you for a ride. Honestly, who falls for this rubbish? If it were that easy to con, surely it would have been shut down by now!

The phone rang a few times on Saturday morning. I was not near the phone, so I didn't answer. I did not recognize the Liverpool phone number as I am not with BT. I reported it as a scam. Other websites have negative reviews for this number.

Received a call that I didn't pick up. So, I rang them back, and the automated system put me on hold. I stayed on for a bit, but something felt off, so I decided to hang up.

They addressed me directly by name and seemed to be presenting a loan option, mentioning that I had considerable debts that I was struggling to manage. Sure, I could’ve checked Experian, but their information is often incomplete and outdated. I politely declined their offer, and they wrapped up the call without any fuss.

A foreign woman claimed to be from a bank, the usual nonsense you tend to hear. I told her to drop me a letter instead.

I received a call where the person on the other end claimed I was someone I certainly am not (the name they mentioned was linked to a scammer who has targeted my number before). They wouldn’t disclose their identity or what their purpose was, which I found rather suspicious.

Took an age for them to pick up, which immediately raised my suspicions about the authenticity of the call. Just as the bloke began to inquire if he was on the line with me, he mistakenly butchered my name and then the call dropped. Quite the peculiar experience, to say the least!

I picked up the phone only for them to disconnect straight away. What was the purpose of that? Clearly just another scam or a call centre lacking any genuine intent. I've gone ahead and blocked the number, as per usual.
