somebody said they were from scottish power asking me for my supply number to sort out a bill. i told them if that was really the case, then it was their issue, not mine, and they just ended the call. total waste of time, i just hung up on them lol.

TOTAL SCAM! They called pretending to be from my energy supplier, even using my name and address! Then they asked for a number from my bill, claiming it was to switch my account. Obviously, they just want to steal your money. I requested to speak to a manager, and they gave me a made-up name. When I said that person wasn’t in their department, they got annoyed, said they were ending the call, and hung up on me! I contacted my real energy company afterwards, and they confirmed it’s a known scam. Beware!

Total scam alert! They call claiming to be from your energy supplier, using your name and address to sound legit, then ask for a number from your bill to "transfer your account." It's all a trick to steal your cash! When I asked to speak with a manager, they just made up some random name. I told them that whoever they mentioned doesn’t actually work there, and they got annoyed, saying I’d be disconnected before hanging up on me. I contacted my real provider straight after, and they confirmed it’s a well-known scam.

Got a call from some bloke called Jason who said he was ringing from SSE about a problem with the meter number linked to my postcode. He kept saying I needed to check my invoices straightaway. I told him to jog on and ended the call. Seemed dodgy as he actually insisted he wasn’t trying to scam me. I've let SSE know about it anyway.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Scottish Power and wanted my meter supply number. I rang up Scottish Power myself and they told me it was just a scam. Definitely a dodgy call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Utilita, said they had to talk about my electric bills.

I called them out for being a scammer straight away, and all they kept saying was "really" like it was some sort of comeback. Told them to send anything official in writing if there's a problem.

Their only reply was "really" again.

Got a call from them saying I wasn’t helping because I hadn’t shared my invoice info. Then they threatened to send me to their head office since I wasn’t being “cooperative,” and they actually cut off my electricity for a couple of days. Before hanging up, they just slammed the phone down in a really rude way.

Somebody rang saying they were from EDF Energy and needed to check our meter number because apparently they've lost it and there’s loads of meters nearby. They said it was required to sort out the billing stuff!

Some bloke rang up saying he was from British Gas and told me our postcode's gas supply was off. He wanted me to confirm our supply code, but I didn’t give him anything. When I said no, he started getting rude and even threatened to cut off our supply. I hung up, but then he kept ringing back one after another, six times in a row. Definitely a scam, don’t hand over any details to that number!

this bloke said he was from ecf, sounded like he wanted to start an argument, proper arrogant guy, sounded asian. i just told him i wasnt up for a chat and to write down any complaints he had. that really twisted his knickers and he finished by telling me to buzz off. maybe try again, mate!

Had a bloke ring me claiming he was from British Gas, going on about postcodes and trying to get details about my meter and an old bill. He threatened to disconnect the supply for a couple of days if I didn’t give him the info. I rang BG for myself and they said everything was fine on my account, so it’s probably some sneaky broker trying it on. These kinds of tricks really get under my skin - like, who can you even trust nowadays?

Got a call from someone claiming to be with n power. He was really pushy and kept arguing with me. Even after I hung up two times, he kept ringing me back. Not a nice experience at all. Felt like he was trying to trick me into giving info. Would report him if I knew where or could be bothered. So annoying!

somebody said they were with scottish power, said they’re struggling to get meter readings because there’s loads of businesses nearby. asked me to log into my account to check the meter number. i told them i usually do the readings online myself and they said yeah, they knew that but just needed to double-check a few details while i was logged in. i said i couldn’t do it at the moment and then just hung up.

Got a few calls from people saying they’re from SSE, super pushy too. They mentioned they were inputting some info and wanted us to confirm it. They actually had a right account number (there’s multiple businesses around here, so that was a bit worrying). Then they asked for the supply number, which we didn’t want to share, and also the contract expiry date - again, we said no. They didn’t wanna do any proper security verification, and when we held our ground, they got quite abrupt and just hung up on us.
