When I confronted the individual who subsequently called back, I pressed him on the matter, but he simply instructed me to hang up, insisting I wasn't permitted to continue the conversation. Quite the scam operation, I must say!

I went back and forth with them for a good ten minutes, explaining that it was evident they weren't connected to the government at all-rather, they seemed to be trying to panic tenants to sell their services to landlords. Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me!

Then they asked if I live in a council house, to which I replied no again. They said sorry for the hassle and ended the call. When I mentioned that her call didn't seem local, she insisted it was indeed from the UK. Curiosity got the better of me, so I quizzed her about the name of either football team in Manchester.
