He just cut me off when I didn’t want to answer his security questions. I mean, I was being polite, even asking how his day was and about his kids. You’d think he’d get that security questions are standard, right? Really quite impolite.

Got a missed call from a number I didn’t recognise, but it looked a lot like the ones I’ve been getting from scammers lately.

I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming it was regarding my O2 account - which I don’t even have. Once I told him that, he just hung up. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

This guy from India just rang me up and started asking if I was into bobs and vagene, said there was like a 40% discount or something. Kept going on about how great the deal was. Weird call, honestly.

I didn't even get to say hello before they hung up. Don’t know this number at all, so I’m just going to block it. After reading the other comments, I’m glad I’m not the only one! Thanks for sharing.

I just ignored the call since I don’t know anyone from Liverpool and have no reason to get calls from there. They never left a voicemail either. Saw what others said about it, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number. Cheers!

Somebody answered but started speaking in a language I didn’t recognise at all. It wasn’t anything European language based, that’s for sure.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, offering a 30% discount on my bill. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Classic scam alert! The call I received was from an individual who purported to represent a telecom provider-specifically O2 in this instance. It’s quite glaringly obvious it's a ruse, considering I’ve never had an account with O2, thus they shouldn’t possess any information about me at all. What raised my suspicions even further was that this caller seemed to have access to my postcode! Talk about dodgy tactics.

Every time you call, I just hang up and block the number. There’s no way you’ll get anything from me, so you can quit trying now.

Just had a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be from O2. Definitely sounds like a scam!

I just had a phone call from this number. A woman with an Asian accent was on the line, and she was terribly courteous, claiming to be representing O2. I didn't hesitate to hang up straight away. Total scam!

Got a call not long ago from this number, bloke claimed to be from O2. Right away got a dodgy text with a fraud code, and the guy on the line started demanding I give it to him, saying I wasn’t on a 5G deal and he was trying to switch me onto one. Couple of hours later my phone stopped working, rang O2 and they told me someone had slapped a payment block on my account even though I didn’t owe a penny. These phone calls are nasty business. Best thing is don’t pick up or just ignore them, let it ring out and then block the number.

Sadly, you can’t report scam calls directly through the police’s Action Fraud phishing form anymore. But if you want more info, have a look at the Action Fraud phishing page. If you’ve lost money to a scam, ring 0300 123 2040 to report it. It’s also worth raising this with your MP, asking why the police have stopped collecting data on scam attempts. If you spot a dodgy number, text it to 7726, which should put a warning on your mobile network. For scam texts or emails, take a screenshot and send it to ‘[email protected]’ or just forward the text to 7726.

Got a call from someone claiming to be 02, even though my phone number clearly says not to be bothered. They were talking about winning a big prize or something. Total scam, really needs to be shut down.

Got a call on my phone but the number was unfamiliar to me. I didn't answer.

Complete rip off. They claimed to be from O2, but I told them I’m not an O2 customer and asked them not to phone again. They said they’d ring back in five minutes. I told them again I’m not with O2, and they replied “I know you’re not with O2, but I’ll still call you in five minutes.” If you check the other reviews, you’ll find some pretty worrying stories - exactly the kind of person I dealt with. This number is linked to Twilio Ireland.
