I recently came across a dodgy character posing as an O2 rep, attempting to sell me an upgrade on my phone while demanding my credit card details. Stay well clear of this! They're particularly preying on the elderly. Giving them your credit card could see your bank account completely drained!

They tried to ring me about 5 times but after seeing the comments here, I figured it’s a scam so I just didn't pick up.

Got a call supposedly from O2 saying I could get some deal, but I reckon it's a scam. The number's got a Liverpool area code, not sure if that means anything but it's fishy to me.

I tried calling back, but it just said the number wasn't valid. I reckon it was probably someone trying to scam me.

This caller was really stubborn, kept asking for details about my O2 account. They claimed they sent me a code that I had to give them so they could access my profile and offer a 40% discount on my bill. I told them several times that the text I got specifically said not to share the code with anyone, even O2 employees. I also said I wasn’t comfortable sorting this out over the phone since I couldn’t confirm who they were. After I ended the call, they actually rang me again!

Had a call from a lady who kept calling me ‘dear’ and said she was ringing from O2. Not sure that O2 staff are supposed to call customers that, felt a bit off to me. I just ended the call straight away.

This has to be a scam for sure. They keep calling me, saying they're from some mobile provider but couldn’t really say where cos their English was so poor. All the calls come from Liverpool numbers. I’ve had enough and blocked them now.

I got a call from a woman who just kept going on her script, even after I told her I wasn’t interested in any upgrades or assistance. Her voice was pretty hard to make out and the connection kept cutting in and out. This isn’t the first time I’ve received calls from slightly different numbers that seem related.

Received a phone call from a lady who referred to me as 'Dear' and said she was calling on behalf of O2. Somehow, I find it hard to believe that using 'Dear' is part of O2's official script.

I decided it was best to end the conversation.

Received a call purporting to be from Liverpool. The caller claimed to represent O2, but I don’t even have an O2 account. The voice on the line sounded Indian. I've since blocked the number. Best to steer clear of anything they request; it's likely a scam.
