When I pointed out that they ought to have my info on file, “Sanjeev” informed me they operate with 28 different departments. I had a day off and was a bit bored, so I decided to occupy his time for half an hour with nonsensical queries, like what the international rates are for Bora Bora or if the phone would function while aboard a ship and such.

I received a call supposedly from O2, my mobile provider, promising me a 30% discount on my existing plan. When I requested to confirm my current tariff as a way to verify the legitimacy of the call, the chap on the other end informed me that his manager would be in touch shortly with that information. However, he insisted we needed to address a couple of preliminary points before that could happen. I explained that I was rather preoccupied and decided to block the number instead.
