The moment they started with that typical sales pitch tone, I knew what was coming. Then out of the blue, they began asking if I was aware of some government-backed investment plan. I wasn't having any of it and told them to shove off, which seemed to really annoy them!

I have no clue who was calling, so I tried ringing back, but it just went straight to voicemail before ending the call. Definitely sounds like one of those call centres.

total rubbish from the caller. said they weren't allowed to say who was behind the number because of data protection rules. what a load of bollocks.

They just call and hang up straight away once my answerphone starts talking, never leaving any message. Honestly, this is exactly the sort of thing that makes me keep my answerphone on all the time.
