Someone called about a Government Debt Assistance thing. I reckon it might be dodgy since the caller talked really fast. If it was legit, why be in such a hurry? I told them I’ve no debts and wasn’t interested. They didn’t sound aggressive, just said thanks and ended the call.

I couldn’t help but think, “when pigs fly!” I figured the next thing she'd do would be to ask me for some cash for who knows what, so I decided to end the conversation there and hung up.

She mentioned that because of Covid, many Council and Housing Association homes hadn’t been fixed up properly. She asked if I was dealing with issues like mould or damp. I told her I owned my place, and she said sorry for the bother and hung up.

Got a call about some debt stuff, they said it wasn’t a cold call or anything. I asked where they were calling from, they said London but the number had an 0151 code which is Liverpool, so I called them out on that. Kept asking if I owed money but I just didn’t answer. They claimed they were ringing about maintenance for rented homes. They knew my mum’s name and had my number. I haven’t lived with her for over a decade and her name isn’t on my rental agreement. I asked how they got my details and they said from the national tenancy database. I told them that’s impossible as the name doesn’t match the number, then they just hung up before I could ask what info they had on me. Not surprised there’s no clear way to send a formal data access request. Feels dodgy and probably a scam.
