I endured a rather long wait until someone finally picked up, only to abruptly cut the line the moment I opened my mouth. It took me three attempts before I managed to get a word in. When I inquired about what National Money Savers actually do, the woman informed me that they conduct surveys and assist individuals in unearthing the best deals for saving money. I pointed out that it would indeed be lovely if I had requested them to reach out in the first place, but alas, I hadn't! Consequently, I asked if they could cease their incessant calls at all hours. She mentioned that to halt these calls, I needed to dial 01923 288 994 to request my removal from their system. So, I made the call, only to be met with a recorded message-let’s hope this puts an end to the relentless calls!

My 80 year old mum got a call from someone claiming to be from Golden Charter, the UK's largest funeral plan company. I rung Golden Charter to raise concerns about their rude and heartless approach to contacting older people. The number she got was from Liverpool, but I found out the real Golden Charter have a Glasgow area code. The lady I spoke to promised to investigate it. They said they don’t do cold calls, and after I asked them to make sure they have no record of my mum, they confirmed she’s not on their database and won’t be contacted again.

I did a bit of digging about Golden Charter, which appears to be linked to a number in Glasgow, after my elderly mother, who's 80, got a call from a number in Liverpool. When I reached out to Golden Charter to voice my concern, they assured me that they do not engage in cold calling and are currently investigating the matter. I've come across various discussions where others have noted that these calls seem to be linked to PPI claims, offers related to ‘recent accidents’, and the like. It's quite frustrating!
