I answered the phone and at first there was nothing but silence, then a lady with an accent, maybe from a call centre, said my name and asked if I could hear her. I stayed quiet and she just ended the call. The number supposedly came from Liverpool.

Got a call earlier today. Picked up but stayed quiet. After a bit, a guy with a foreign accent said hi and asked how I’m doing. I asked what the call was about, and he then asked if I was ---- -----. I said no, and he just ended the call. Felt a bit uneasy that he actually knew my name, although he said it wrong. Could hear a bunch of people chatting in the background, so definitely sounded like a call centre.

Got a voicemail from some unknown number but they never gave their name or any clue who it was. Phone flagged it as a potential scam. In the background, I could just make out some random voices talking or something.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from a life insurance firm, saying my policy was due for renewal. Problem is, I don’t have any life insurance at all. The caller admitted they’d made a mistake but then tried to pitch me an insurance deal anyway. They seemed to know my name and phone number but nothing much beyond that. When I asked where they got my info from, they said it was my bank, supposedly because of my mortgage. I kept pushing for the company’s name, and they told me it was called HYPE and said I could check TrustPilot for reviews, which I did. Oddly enough, when I googled “HYPE LIFE INSURANCE” there was nothing relevant, just nothing that made sense. The TrustPilot link took me to an Italian website, which felt really suspicious. Feels like one of those scams to me.

Got a call from someone asking to talk to the Director. He was checking if we'd got a life insurance renewal through, but when I asked for the policy details, he couldn't give any specifics - just kept referring to it as life insurance.

I got a call about some life insurance deal, but there was so much noise in the background it was hard to hear properly. The caller kept stumbling over their words and seemed pretty unsure about what they were trying to explain.

Got a call earlier today (20/04/16) from someone claiming to be Barclays, telling me to get in touch with my manager Judith Campbell Ardent on 01513759391, and they even gave a reference number. Pretty dodgy though, as Barclays don’t have managers like that anymore!

Got a call today 20/4/16 from someone claiming to be Barclays, telling me to ring my manager Judith Campbell Ardent at 01513759391 with a reference number they gave me. Totally fishy, since Barclays doesnt use managers anymore! Caller ID was 01513759391 from Ardent.

Got a few voicemails for my missus, asking her to ring someone called Paul Jones, who claims to be her "account manager" at a place named Ardent. The number left was 0151 375 9391. Problem is, we've never had any dealings with a company called Ardent. Caller says he's Paul Jones.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be Paul at Ardent, asking for my partner. He wouldn’t say much and just gave a phone number, saying it was something ‘personal’. I looked up the number afterwards and found loads of warnings saying it’s a scam. Definitely dodgy.
