Got a call from a woman claiming she was from ‘The Holiday Spot’ about a holiday I supposedly booked with them within the last few years. She said I could get some compensation because of ‘insantitry conditions?’ I was driving, so I told her to send me an email with everything. Of course, no email came through. What bugs me is that I *did* go on a holiday with ‘The Holiday Spot’ recently, so how on earth did she get all my personal info and holiday details? I’ve reported this to ‘The Holiday Spot.’ Bit worrying, to say the least!

As someone who works in Information Systems auditing, I told them I never let any site share my info. Both my phone numbers are registered on the TPS, yet these calls still slip through. My advice? If you’ve had the same experience, send an email to the company asking who sold them your data and also make a complaint to the ICO. It’s clear "Major Holidays" don’t care about following data protection laws.
