Got a call from someone saying the firm that did my cavity wall insulation had folded and they wanted to check if I was having any issues. Since the insulation was put in like 40 years back and the guarantee was only for 10, it was pretty clear it was a dodgy scam. The lady was quite polite and said sorry for taking up my time.

Thing is, I've never had any problems, so she sounded a bit annoyed and just ended the call. I've blocked the number now. I got a call from this number from a bloke asking about my daughter who doesn’t even live here, about some cavity wall thing. He mentioned the company that did the work had gone bust. Then he told me, if there’s any damp issues, I should ring 0151 203 1141. The guy said his name was Jack Jones and had a proper Scouse accent. I just asked if that was the number to call if I had any problems, and he said yes before hanging up. I called the 375 number back and it came up as an auto repair place with a message about waiting to speak to an advisor. Weird!

A bloke called asking for my hubby just calling him by his first name. When I asked what the call was about, he mentioned some cavity insulation check or something. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number earlier, claiming they were following up on some repairs on my car’s back left side after an accident. I told them I’d never had any accident or insurance claim and asked to speak to a supervisor. Someone called John Walker (doubt that’s his real name) answered and started with the same story. I told him I was going to report them to trading standards and the cops. That’s when he got rude. I’ve also sent an email to the police about it.

So, I got a call from some place claiming to be Chambers and Churchill, dealing with accident assessments. When I looked them up on Companies House, I saw they’d only been set up recently, just a matter of weeks. If it’s the exact same outfit, there’s nothing else matching their name on there. Oddly enough, their main business type is listed as "Call Centres". Also, the director and secretary are apparently the same individual, which seemed a bit strange to me.
