I received a call from this number yesterday, then again today. The person I spoke with, Amelia, claimed to be from Direct Legal Services, attempting to discuss a supposed accident claim of mine. Strangely, my Caller ID showed they were ringing from 0151 375 8687, but when I dialled 1471, the number displayed was 03447 880 092. Amelia provided me with yet another number-0800 098 7994. However, I couldn’t find any trace of this company on Merseyside, despite her claims that they were situated there. When I pressed her on this, she mentioned a Supervisor, Daniel, who apparently was busy, and then abruptly ended the call. I decided to call the 0800 number, and I spoke to someone named Adam Patel. He asserted that their office was located in Leyland. Once again, I found no evidence of this company in either Merseyside or Leyland on Google or Companies House. Adam appeared bewildered by the lack of information and claimed he would raise the issue with the Directors. A quick search showed that Direct Legal Services Ltd is registered at Edward Street Chambers in Blackpool, according to Companies House. The director is noted as Antony Oswin, a 54-year-old British national who was appointed on May 11, 2017, and the company itself is rather young-barely a year old. I couldn’t find a contact number corresponding to their registered address either. These people have been incessantly cold calling me, and it’s quite evident they’re sifting through old accident reports to pester individuals with offers that are unwelcome and unnecessary. I’ve expressed my discontent to both Amelia and Mr Patel about these intrusive calls. The audacity to cold call and then hang up when they realise no business would be finalized is utterly unacceptable.
