I picked up thinking it was someone local, cos of the number, but no one spoke when I answered. Had to put a block on it straight away!

This number rang me earlier claiming to be from Albany Assurance. When I politely requested to have my number removed from their calls, the person on the other end let out a really obvious sigh. I get that some folks work on commission but a bit of respect when someone asks to be left alone wouldn’t hurt. Number was 0151 375 9534, from Liverpool.

Right, those awful Scouse scammers, best not to answer or ring back anyone unfamiliar. I always make sure me mum, who's a bit older, knows exactly how to handle these rubbish cold calls. Hopefully, they’ll get what’s coming to them in the end! x

I got a ring from this number saying I had just been in a road accident, which was totally untrue. I’ve actually been in hospital for days after having my baby and going through some major life-saving surgery. I got a call from Rk legal, and when I told them to take me off their list and stop ringing me, they weren't happy. They tried to tell me they were obliged to ring, but once I mentioned I'd already got a personal injury solicitor, she suddenly changed her tune and said she's happy for me and didn’t want to continue the chat. - caller: Rk legal

Just got a call from this number, and the woman on the line sounded like she had a Liverpool accent. She said something about my accident. When I figured it was probably some sort of con, I told her I couldn’t quite catch what she was saying. Even after she repeated herself a couple times, I just kept saying, ‘sorry, still don’t get it’. Then she said she’d ring back later. Yeah, good luck with that! Honestly, why do these daft scammers keep bothering? All the clever ones seem to be based in Kenya these days anyway.

Got a ring from this number on 03/12/15 at 11:18, and the lady on the line asked, "Is this about a minor crash, sir?" I told her, "Why dont you just confirm if that's true?" Somebody had apparently reported a small car accident and this woman rang asking if it was me she wanted to speak to. I told her no way, as nothing like that even happened. I told her to stop calling or I'd block her, and I did just that!

Got a call from some geezer asking about an accident I had in the past couple of years. I told him flat out I haven't been in one. Then he starts moaning that I’ve got an attitude. So I shot back saying he sounded like a jobsworth in a dodgy tie and maybe he should sort himself a real job. Sorted.

She told me it was about a recent accident I’d been involved in. Told her I hadn’t had any accident and to take me off their list. She said alright. Then about 30 minutes later, they’re calling me again. Didn’t pick up this time. I’m in Merseyside too, and the caller had a Scouse accent - caller ID was “follow up.”

Absolutely dreadful experience. Some bloke claiming to be from a firm called 'Swift' called up saying I'd been in a car crash. I told him no way, asked him to take me off their list, then he just dropped the call. Tried calling back a few times, and each time they ended the call without saying a word.
