Today I got a call from a bloke claiming our IP address was being used by someone. When I asked for his name, he told me to ring him back in an hour after he'd had a chat with his son who supposedly works at BT, then just cut the call.

They rang me a couple times, saying they'd disable Windows on my computer, but I just told them I don’t own one at all!

Just had a really similar experience happen to me. It was a lady who spoke with an Indian accent telling me my Windows had been compromised. I ended up cutting her off twice but she kept ringing back about six more times, never actually leaving a voicemail. I just decided to block her and not answer anymore.

Someone rang saying they were from Windows. After I hung up, they kept ringing me back and warned that they’d disconnect my internet if I didn’t cooperate.
