I got a cheeky call around half two today. Thankfully, I've been tuned into the BBC's Scam Interceptors programme, which helped me spot this as a dodgy call right away. The bloke on the line claimed I’d been overcharged a rather random £149 for, well, something I didn’t quite catch. He went on about refunds. As soon as I uttered the word "scam", off went the line! Quite the coincidence, don’t you think?
