Today at 12:05pm I got a dodgy call from 0151 324 2881, said something about tax fraud and told me to press 1 or I'd be arrested soon. When I actually tried to answer, the call just dropped straight away. I’ve messaged HMRC to check if there’s anything official about this as I couldn’t find any info on scams like this lately. Please warn your mates about it, really shook me up! What’s odd is my VOXI PAYG SIM is brand new, only two weeks, so I’m wondering if someone’s selling personal details???

Got another one of those accident scam calls today, different number but same story. Luckily my call screening app caught it. You’d imagine with thousands of complaints on this site alone, the phone companies or police would do something to stop them by now.

They keep ringing me and after reading what everyone else said, I’ve decided to block them. I noticed they’re also using a different number, 01518080793, so watch out for that one as well. I’m guessing they have quite a few numbers they’re cycling through, but those two are definitely blocked now.

Some muppet called saying I’d been in an accident and could make a claim. When I asked for details, they couldn’t give me a straight answer. Told them to bugger off and hung up. What a load of rubbish.

Somebody called me saying they were from an accident helpline. When I told them they shouldn't have my number and that I've never been in any accident, they got really nasty. The woman started shouting, calling me a liar and insisting they knew I’d had an accident. Honestly, I’ve never had one (thank goodness).

I keep my phone on “do not disturb” all the time, but let calls from people in my contacts through. Even so, it still shows missed call alerts even when it never actually rings. I looked up this number here and I’m so relieved I didn’t answer because I probably would have told them exactly what I think of them! Blocked the number straight away.

I got a call from a woman whose English wasn’t great but she knew my name and kept going on about me being in some kind of accident back in my home city. She was really pushy about it. The number showed as Liverpool, but it honestly sounded like it was from another country. She’s called a few times lately but sometimes just stays quiet when I pick up.

I got a phone call from some bloke claiming there'd been an accident involving me, which turned into a nightmare. The guy on the line was an Asian male, and he started hurling all sorts of personal and racist insults at me. Honestly, I won't even repeat half the awful stuff he said. Worst part was, he threatened to ‘f##k my sister’ - totally unacceptable and shocking behaviour.
