Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent trying to sell me some sort of drain and boiler cover renewal. I told him I’ve never had such a policy and didn’t know the company, something with “Premium” in the name, I think. I asked him to stop calling bc they’ve been ringing my landline about 5 or 6 times every day this week. Normally I just let it go to voicemail but was waiting on another call so picked up. These annoying stalkers really don’t know when to quit!

Tried to scam me by pretending I owed money for a call blocking service I already have. Total con artists and dishonest people. Don’t get caught out by them. If you can block their number, do it, and make sure you keep letting others know by reporting here.

It’s sad but true that some people fall for these scams and end up handing over their bank info. If you get one of these calls or messages, make sure you report it to the cops. Just look up 'action fraud' on Google, go to police.uk, find the 'reporting' tab, and pick the phishing option from the dropdown menu. Then just scroll down past the email scam info to start your report. You don’t need to sign up or anything, and it’s quick - just like leaving a comment here. Stay careful out there, everyone!

Got a call from someone claiming they were there to save me from some sort of “late payment fees” for services done on my account. No clue what account or what work they meant, as they never gave any details. Their solution? Just send them money. I told them no and then ended the call.

So this lady rings me up saying my call blocker needs an update and that their tech people are nearby, just waiting for me to give the go-ahead. I got a bit suspicious and asked if it was legit, and then she started talking about how I’d already paid two years ago and even mentioned an old credit card number. They’ve called me before too, this is the second time now. Didn’t bother staying on the line, just hung up.

Got a call from a woman claiming I owed £196 to some company called Call Protection Service. I told her I'd check it out and asked for a contact number, but when I tried it, the number wasn’t real! Really glad I decided to search them online first. She said she'd ring me back in 5 minutes, and sure enough, they just tried to call again but I didn’t answer!

I got a call from a woman speaking with an American accent, insisting I owed a last payment for some rubbish call-blocking service - which I’ve never signed up for. Like others have said, she rattled off my full name, address, phone number, and even details from an old debit card, security code included. Luckily, that card’s cancelled now. She refused to believe she’d got it wrong and threatened me with fines if I didn’t pay up. I just told her I was hanging up and did exactly that. What a load of rubbish!!

A chap reached out to inform me that my call protection was about to expire. He insisted that the last payment for the arrangement I’d established the previous year hadn’t gone through, claiming that my credit card couldn’t be processed by the bank. What unnerved me was that he had details of an old card, including the security digits from the back! When I mentioned I hadn’t actually enrolled in any call protection, he ominously warned that failing to settle the outstanding amount would result in a staggering £500 fee. I told him to go ahead and do it! He then proceeded to claim that the conversation was being recorded and that I had just consented to these charges. He added that hanging up would be detrimental to my situation. Naturally, I abruptly ended the call. It’s quite alarming to think that someone less savvy with their finances might easily fall for such a scam.

This bloke called me up all friendly, saying I was signed up for their call blocking thing. I asked him to remove me from it, and suddenly he went all harsh, warning me I'd end up on some list and it would cost me loads of cash. I just said yeah right, and ended the call.

Got a call from them at about 4.20pm on the 11th of May 2020, saying I owed a subscription fee and that if I didn’t cough up, they’d put me on some blacklist. I just told them to buzz off and blocked their number straight away. Absolutely can’t stand people like that, proper scummy behaviour.

So basically, they ring you up claiming you’ve got some call blocking service with them, and then tell you there’s an issue with your account or your subscription’s about to expire. Then they ask for your card or bank info to sort it out. It’s basically a con where they demand payment to stop nuisance calls, but if you pay, you might still get loads of calls - just fewer than before, mainly from them! They also charge you secretly and end up selling your details to other companies. Totally dodgy.
