I tried to speak to the business owner or the MD, but they refused to give me any info. They wouldn’t say their name or which company they were from, just that it was about a business valuation. When I asked how she planned to reach them if they weren't available, I just told her that’s not my concern. She then asked for a mobile number, but I said I couldn’t share personal details. Not long after, she just ended the call.

They were pretty abrupt and just ended the call when I asked for the name of the business owner they were trying to reach.

Helen was calling me, I could tell right away it was one of those cold calls. She came across as quite insistent, trying to get hold of personal mobile numbers for the director, which I flat out refused to give. She kept saying it was important or urgent, but I just jotted down the number and decided to completely ignore it after that. Honestly, these comments make for a good laugh!

Got a sketchy call trying to convince me to set up a surveyor last minute about supposedly overpaid business rates. Definitely sounded dodgy so I’ve put it down with the TPS.

I got a call from someone saying they’re with the Rating & Valuation Company, and that they work for the VOA. When I asked a few questions, like for their company registration number to check if it was legit, they just ended the call straight away. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Some bloke called Luke Dixon pretended he was some bigwig above Manchester council and said he was working with the VOA about a mistake on our bill. He wanted to speak to the owner and asked for both their name and phone number to ring back. I told him to just leave his contact info and that we'd ring him if needed. That’s why the name’s up there.

Some rude woman called me asking for the person who pays the bill. When I asked for a name, she snaps back saying she doesn’t know, and how bills don’t always show names. I told her if she works for the council, she should already know who’s responsible for the payments. Then she starts moaning about not wanting all this back and forth. Honestly, what a cheeky scammer! She needs to sort her attitude out and find a proper job, not bother people like this.

We've gotten several calls from these people saying they're from Dorset County Council. I've actually talked to both the guy and the woman behind it. They always say they want to speak to the owner, not the manager. They rang again today and were really nasty to my team.

Spoke to this rude guy who refused to tell me anything about what he needed help with. Kept dodging questions about the company and only wanted to chat about business rates? Like, what exactly about them? Unless he’s from Sefton Council, there’s no way I'd talk about company business rates on the phone! He said he’d send an email though.
