I received a call from someone who had a thick Indian accent claiming to represent the "Citizens Advice Helpline." He claimed to be from the citizens' helpline, but as soon as I asked why he was ringing me, he just ended the call.

Don’t be fooled, this isn’t some citizens helpline at all. It’s actually a scam linked to HSBC trying to get you to pay off a fake debt. HSBC is supposedly sharing your info with these fraudsters, which isn’t proper or legal. Best to check directly with your bank about who they’re giving your data to because it smells fishy. Steer clear of these scammers!

Who on earth has been ringing me?

I keep getting calls on my personal phone, even though I haven’t shared the number anywhere. This is the second time in just a couple of days. The voice and the question they ask don’t change, but the number showing up on my screen is always different.

They called me but didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. I’m not gonna call back unless they say who they are and what it’s about. Sounds like spam to me!
