Got a call on Tuesday about some car accident claim, played along a bit but acted like I didn’t have the info ready, so they said they’d ring back later. Now, I’d rather they just don’t bother calling at all because it’s obviously a scam - just search your number online and this site pops up! The bloke then got all stroppy, threatening to report me to the cops for making up an insurance claim. Then cheekily asked for my address, which I gave as 64 Zoo Lane (from that old kids TV show), and apparently I should be expecting a visit from “the boys” soon.

Just got a call claiming to be from HMRC, told me to press 1 straight away. You’d think nowadays there’d be a way to block these kinds of calls for good. Anyway, the main thing is never send money over the phone unless you’re absolutely sure who you’re speaking to.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC, sounding really serious, saying I’m involved in a criminal investigation for tax evasion and fraud. They said the call was being recorded for a jury, and I had to either appear in court or pay £1798 straight away, with two payments to a bank account and sort code they gave me. It's awful and honestly terrifying that they’re targeting potentially vulnerable people who might believe this rubbish. This is defo a dangerous scam.

Got a call from this number but missed it. Tried calling back since it’s a Liverpool code and my relatives live there, but all I got was annoying hold music. Ended the call straight away and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Accident Management Service from 0151 303 1677. A woman called Nicole answered initially and then handed me over to their accident assessor. They didn’t know my name and asked if I’d had an accident in the last 3 years. I kept asking what the call was about and they said they were working for the other party and I might be able to make a claim for any trouble caused. When I told them my insurers had already sorted everything, including any compensation, they just hung up. Don’t share any info and block this number!

Got a ring from this number, a woman speaking with a South African accent said she was ringing about 'my car crash'. I told her I never had one, then asked where she got my number from, and she just hung up. I tried calling back and there was this weird robotic music playing for more than a minute. Definite scam vibes to me. I had contacted 3 different insurance companies the day before and now I’m wondering if they’re somehow stealing numbers from these places?

I’ve just had a rather dubious call from this number. A lady with a noticeable South African accent claimed she was following up regarding 'my car accident'. I informed her that I hadn’t been involved in any such incident, and when I probed her on how she came by my phone number, she promptly disconnected. I tried to return the call, but was met with endless synthesized tunes for a good minute. It stinks of a scam, if you ask me. Interesting timing, as I reached out to three different insurance companies just yesterday-could they be fishing for numbers from those sites?

Somebody called claiming to assist with my car crash, but when I asked for my insurance info, they couldn’t give me any details. She tried to fire off 6 or 7 questions but never got beyond the first one because I got suspicious. Also, the woman didn’t sound like she was from Liverpool, no offence to my mates there. I made it clear I wasn’t going to answer anything and just ended the call. The lady sounded like she was working from an India call centre - and guess what, I’m Indian myself!

I usually dont pick up when the number shows Liverpool, not that I’m against people from there, just noticed quite a few scam calls seem to come from that area. Got calls on Friday and again today, so I’ve just gone ahead and blocked it now!

They called and hung up as soon as I picked up, then called again today asking for another person. I told them that number isn’t with them anymore, so they figured they got the right one for me instead. It was one of those accident claim scams, saying the other party’s insurance said I’m owed more money, like a second payout. When I said I hadn’t had an accident recently, they switched to “within the last five years.” Wouldn’t hear when I said I’m busy and not interested, so I just hung up and blocked the number. Proper idiots!
