they rang me two times today. from what I’ve seen in other comments, it might be connected to currys pc world. I bought something from their online shop yesterday and it arrived today, so maybe it’s legit. that said, the number was already on my block list so i didn’t pick up anyway.

Got a call from this number earlier but didn't pick up, and they didn’t leave a voicemail. A few hours later, they rang again and I decided to answer. The guy said he was calling from Currys PC World and asked about how I wanted my order, like if it was for pickup or delivery. I found that a bit odd, because surely if he was from Currys, he’d already have that info. When I asked, he said he actually didn’t have access to those details. I then wondered if he was working for a third-party company, but he insisted he was a Currys employee. He asked why I had bought the product - whether it was a new purchase or replacing something - but I told him I preferred not to say. He ended the chat fairly quickly but was polite about it. Not sure if it’s a bit of dodgy data collecting or legit Currys stuff.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from PC World, saying they needed my personal info about an Apple watch I supposedly bought. They refused to say why they were calling unless I gave them details. But I ordered the watch only yesterday and it arrived today, so I don’t see why they’d need to call. When I asked what the call was about, I just hung up. Felt really suspicious.

they said they were from curry’s about dropping off a tumble dryer, telling me to just let them in and keep out of the way while they did the delivery. when i started asking stuff, they just stopped me and ended the call abruptly.

Honestly, it wasn’t a scam - turned out to be Currys’ sales folks. After the first call, I had a chat with someone there, but when I rang the call centre, they said it wasn’t from Currys, which freaked me out abit. So on the next call, I called Currys again to check, and the person I spoke with said it’s legit, part of their sales team just making sure orders made online and delivery times are all good.

They’re not being honest with you - that’s definitely their sales department. Currys does this sort of thing all the time. I bet you’ll hear from that same number again in about a year when your warranty’s nearly up, trying to sell you an extension. The people in the call centre probably have no idea what’s really going on.

I just grabbed a dryer from Curry’s but turns out there’s an issue with the delivery. Gave them a ring and the woman I spoke to sounded proper helpful, so fingers crossed it gets sorted quickly. Hopefully it’s all smooth from here on!

Today I got a call from someone saying they were from Curry’s, and weirdly, they already had all my order details. They then asked if I wanted to add insurance to my purchase and requested my card info for it. That made me feel a bit iffy, so I told them to ring me back in 30 minutes while I double-checked everything. They never bothered calling me again.
