I received a phone call from someone claiming to be associated with fire alarms installed by the Fire Service. After I mentioned that the batteries had died, they informed me that a free replacement battery was no longer an option. The caller said they would forward my number to another party who would provide new batteries, but so far, I've not received any follow-up and can't seem to get through on the number that called me. Does this sound like a scam to you?
