I think it was probably just The Football Pools having another go at selling me extra lines. I got a letter through the post today as well, and the last time that happened, I got a call on the same day. Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise saying Unknown on my mobile. When I answered, there was silence and then they just ended the call. I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of phone scam. They seem to call nearly every week. I’ve blocked it now.

As soon as you pick up, they just drop the call, probably trying to get you to ring them back. The number 0151 shows up, and if you do call back, it can cost a fair bit - landline calls might be around 9p a minute, but from mobiles it varies a lot, could be anywhere from 3p right up to 40p a minute depending on your plan. Quite dodgy if you ask me.
