My dad got calls from 0141 771 9688 and 0151 257 9811 with people saying they were from Microsoft. They told him his account was hacked and someone was playing online poker using it. He’s 82, so it sounded real to him. They mentioned he’d get £9,000 compensation so he gave them his info. Those crooks then took over his computer and managed to get into his online banking, stealing about £10,000. If anyone rings pretending to be from Microsoft, Amazon or similar, please just hang up and warn your family to do the same.

got a call from this number (0151 257 9811) earlier today about 1:15pm. didnt pick up since i didn’t know who it was, and no one i know calls from Liverpool area anyway. they left no voicemail or anything, which is just annoying. honestly, these kinds of calls are really a pain and disruptive.

A bloke said he was from Microsoft and kept going on about some malware on my PC. I didn't really buy it since I'd fallen for a similar trick before. Still, I decided to run my own virus scan, and naturally, it found zilch wrong with my machine.

On 26/08/20 I got a call from a woman with a thick foreign accent, she said she was from Microsoft and kept warning me she’d block my computer. I ended the call but she rang me back straight away, sounding annoyed and asking why I’d cut her off. She said she really needed to discuss my computer with me. I told her I wasn’t interested and she threatened again to block it. So I just hung up for good.
