Last night, I got a few calls from this number and others like it. I seriously doubt any legit company in the UK would be ringing so late. Pretty sure it’s just a scam call, probably from India or somewhere similar.

It’s really annoying how these spam calls keep coming through no matter what. Blocking one number doesn’t work at all since they just switch to another fake one every single time. Absolute waste of time!

It’s quite likely that this is Initial Advice Limited. They obtain your contact details from Commsave Credit Union or Unite Union each time you apply for a loan with Commsave. Since November 2011, my mother and I have been inundated with calls on two landlines and two mobile phones. Moreover, numerous calls have also bombarded my housemates since the end of March 2019 and again in August 2020. It’s worth noting that Commsave, Need More Time, and the Wimbledon Guild of Social Work all share the same Board of Directors. Initial Advice Limited operates as a money management entity, masquerading as a social work service, and rather audaciously offered to handle my impending ill health retirement pension and lump sum. I respectfully declined their offer, but after about ten minutes, I had to firmly tell the male caller to get lost. This character has even reached out to me from places as far-flung as Ahmedabad in India, Sri Lanka, and various towns across the UK such as Manchester, Wales, and Liverpool. In August 2019, I raised this issue with Social Work England, which resulted in the suspension of one Board member connected to Commsave/Wimbledon Guild/Need More Time until early 2022, along with interim conditions of practice for another Board member. Yet, every time they appeal these consequences at the Social Work England Tribunals, the calls resume relentlessly.
