Hello there, I had a rather unsettling encounter with a caller purporting to be from First Step Insurance the other day. The chap on the other end inquired whether I had experienced any recent mishaps on the road, to which I answered in the negative. He then persisted, asking if I was acquainted with anyone who had been in a similar situation, and again I replied no. At that point, his demeanour shifted dramatically; he became quite irate, accusing me of not paying attention, before abruptly hanging up. A quick search online revealed that I am not alone in this ordeal - it appears others have crossed paths with this individual or their organisation as well. Interestingly, his accent struck me as distinctly Scouse. The number I received the call from was: 0151 229 1057. I suspect they may have sourced my number from some of the advertisements I posted on platforms like Gumtree, Auto Trader, Exchange and Mart, and eBay. As a precaution, I now always rely on a pay-as-you-go SIM that I can dispose of after placing such ads.

Earlier today, I received a call from a chap named Daniel from this number, about twenty minutes ago. To say he was impolite would be an understatement; when I inquired about the purpose of his call, he began rambling on about some claim I supposedly lodged in the last three years. How peculiar! The only claim I can recall was a minor mishap with my car, and that was strictly between myself and my insurer. When I declined his offer, he continued to press the matter. Quite rude, really, especially when I pointed out the oddity of his claims-he even told me not to be so pessimistic! I decided enough was enough and ended the call, only to ring the number back, hoping for a proper operator, but instead, I found myself speaking to him once more. He did provide an address if I wished to send a letter (assuming it’s legitimate, of course!). He asserted he was with First Contact Insurance, but a quick search yielded no results online-how surprising!

I received a rather bizarre call from 1st Step Insurance. The operator mentioned something quite unsettling about how she might perish at the call centre, which was completely off-putting. Amidst her strange commentary, she did express a willingness to assist with accident claims and even threw in a £150 incentive for referrals! Quite the odd encounter, to say the least.
