I got a call from this number on my landline on the afternoon of 22nd October but didn’t bother to pick up. The moment my answerphone kicked in and started recording, the call just ended straight away. I’ve got ZERO links to Virgin Media and I'm definitely not a customer of theirs. Tried telling Virgin Media about it but they clearly don’t care or want to do anything about these scam calls. Honestly, Richard Branson, who runs Virgin Media, is a total joke for letting this sort of thing go on!

I got a call from someone saying they were with Sky, a woman with an Asian accent telling me my internet was being accessed overseas. She wanted me to install an app showing my connection was active in the US. After chatting for a bit, I felt a bit iffy so I quickly looked it up online and saw it was a total scam. When I said I was ending the call and would contact Sky myself, she threatened to disconnect my internet for 3 days. I just told her to go ahead and hung up.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Microsoft about my PC. I asked him where in the UK he was calling from and he just kept saying "Microsoft." I pressed him again, specifically asking which town their office was in, and he said Reading. Then I told him that the number he’d called me on definitely wasn’t a Reading one. Right after that, the call just dropped. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Someone rang, saying they were from Virgin Media. They told me they had been checking my internet because apparently it’s been very slow lately (which it hasn’t been, at all). They asked me to run a speed test, then claimed there were problems with my connection. Often, in these scams, they’ll try to get you to download something so they can access your device remotely - though they tend to dodge saying it outright. This time, though, they just sent me to a site that’s meant for checking website code. I ended the call right after that.

This number purported to be representing Virgin Media. They often spin a tale about "keeping an eye" on my internet connection, claiming it's been sluggish lately, which, to be fair, is a load of nonsense. They will then nudge you into checking your broadband speed, only to claim there are problems. It’s at this juncture, typical of scammers, that they request you to download some software, which conveniently allows them to gain remote access without outright stating it. In this instance, I was sent to a website that's meant for validating code markup. At that point, I decided it best to hang up.

I just had a rather bothersome text from this number claiming to be conducting some sort of lifestyle survey. My phone is supposed to be shielded from these kinds of irritating messages, which makes it all the more infuriating! It's quite a nuisance and really just wastes my precious time.
