Got a call from a guy claiming to be from Microsoft asking if I was the owner of a computer. I said no, it was my husband’s. He kept pushing me to switch it on. I repeated I didn’t use the computer and that my husband would get in touch with him. Tried to get his number, but he refused to share it. Then he said I wasn’t understanding him and threatened to cancel the computer’s licence. I just told him again my husband would call if there was any issue. Definitely felt like a scam.

Some bloke from India phoned me claiming to be from Microsoft and said my computer was hacked. I told him straight it was a load of rubbish and asked for something in writing, which made him quite rude. I ended the call, but he tried ringing back, threatening to block my number and saying I'd need to visit some office in Reading to sort things out. I told him he was actually calling from Liverpool! I've blocked the number since then.

Each day, without fail, my phone rings at the crack of dawn from the number 01512030956. I pick up, expecting a conversation, yet I’m met with nothing but silence on the other end. After a moment of waiting, I simply hang up.

Got a call from some bloke called "Steven" claiming to be from Microsoft Tech Support, trying to pull that classic scam on me. He even went on about the CLSID thing, which is supposed to be unique but actually isn’t. I told him straight up that I use a Mac, so no Microsoft here, and he just hung up. Managed to keep him chatting for like 10 minutes though, so feeling like I wasted his time a bit!

Got a call this morning at about 10:22 from a man claiming to be with Microsoft, saying my computer was infected. I sometimes mess around with these scammers for a laugh, so I played along for a wee while. Then I told him his mum would be really disappointed in him. He didn’t get why I said that and got quite defensive. Funny enough, he was the only genuine caller out of all the others I’ve had from guys with similar accents warning me about my PC. I might be pushing 80, but I’m no mug! Ended up telling him a very cheeky word before I cut the call!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Steven around 10.34 on 13 October 2022. He claimed my Windows was hacked and wanted to access my computer to sort it out. I told him thanks but basically called him out for being a total scammer before ending the call. Even though he sounded pretty convincing and I’m 75, I’m no fool!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Windows Tech team. Didn’t go down well when I told him I only use an Apple iMac. Tried pushing that I must be using some of their stuff still, but when I asked him to name any, he just couldn’t. Pretty sketchy if you ask me.

I kept getting calls from the same dodgy call centre number, right? Proper annoying. So I told the bloke to get lost and stop calling me. Then the same guy rang back and was swearing at me like mad, said some awful stuff about me three times! I wasn’t having any of it, so I blew a whistle right into the phone. He goes, jokingly asking if I was some kind of traffic warden or how old I was. I warned him again to stop ringing or I’d track him down and have the law sort him out. He just laughed and said he’d keep calling and I’d never catch him. Well, we’ll see about that!
