3 yearsI got a call on my landline recently and it was some robotic voice claiming to be from a company that replaces windows. First off, they completely disregarded my listing on the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m guessing the call was from abroad (definitely scammers). Then, the voice sounded altered with some sort of electronic filter (scam alert). They also refused to say where they’d got my number from (big red flag). When I confronted them about all this, the “voice” just started shouting curses before hanging up abruptly (typical scammers). For starters, they didn’t seem to care that I’m signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, which makes me think they were ringing from abroad. On top of that, their voice sounded like it was coming through some kind of gadget to hide who they really were - that screamed scam to me. They also refused to tell me how they got my number, which just made them seem even more dodgy.
