Some bloke rang me asking for my husband, got our surname spot on. He told me my Samsung TV warranty was nearly up and had some deal for us. Asked to speak to my husband, and when I said he wasn’t in, he said he’d ring back Monday. We do own a Samsung TV from Currys, so it sounded legit at first. I looked up the number after and blocked it straight away once I saw it was a scam.

Got called a few times from different numbers, and somehow this bloke knew way too much about me. When I called him out on it, he didn’t even flinch or hang up. Then he tried to convince me he was from Currys PC World, like that was supposed to prove something! 😂

I bought something from Currys around a week back. After seeing these comments, it looks like it’s probly insurance calls. I don’t pick up numbers I don’t know anyway, but it didn’t even ring on my end. I just block ’em, if it was really somethin’ important they’d leave a message.

I'm in the same boat as quite a few others here. I made a purchase from Currys too, and have taken the step of blocking the number on my phone. Yet, despite that, the calls just keep on coming. It's rather frustrating, isn’t it?

Seen this number pop up twice today, so I looked it up. I did order something online from Currys yesterday, so it makes sense with what others are saying. I don't pick up unknown calls and they didn't leave a message, so I didn't ring back. Can't really say if it was dodgy or not.

Currys has been pushin really hard to sell me insurance for a washing machine I bought not long ago. I blocked the local Reading number they used before, but they ended up calling me from this one instead. Honestly, they were pretty pushy. I’d just suggest hanging up and blocking the number on your phone like I did.

I just had a call from this number. I ordered something from Curry's yesterday, and today I get a call trying to sell me insurance for potential accidental damage. The caller was speaking at breakneck speed, clearly eager to set up a direct debit for this cover. However, as soon as I mentioned I'd like to consult in-store first, she hung up in a flash! 😕😕

For the person who mentioned they’re in customer service at Curry’s and that this number is theirs, that’s really odd. I actually contacted Curry’s myself and they said this number, along with another one that called me pretending to be from there, isn’t one of their official lines. They advised me to just ignore those calls.

Yep, it’s definitely Curry’s/PC World - they rang me after I bought something online. Started off alright, sounded quite friendly but then they tried pushing those protection plans on me. I said I wasn’t interested but they kept going on about it. Told them ‘no thanks’ once more and then they just basically hung up on me. Somebody rang me yesterday, I just hung up. Then they tried again today. Why do firms keep pestering like this? From what I’ve read in the other posts it looks like Currys, trying to push insurance or some kind of breakdown cover. Watch out, folks. Even if the number looks like it belongs to Currys Customer Care, scammers these days are really sharp at faking real business numbers to trick people. If you get a call, pay close attention to what’s being said and then ring Currys yourself using the number on your paperwork. Make sure your line’s clear before calling back. Unfortunately, with everything going digital, you can’t really trust any unexpected caller, even if the number seems legit.

Got a call claiming to be from Currys PC World about something I supposedly ordered today. They seemed clueless about what I'd bought but asked anyway. I ordered a camera from Currys PC World and the very next day they rang me four times. I ignored the first three calls and finally answered the fourth. They immediately asked for my name, address, and email - which I refused to give. I told them, “If this is about an order I placed, you should already have all that info.” They said they needed to talk about delivery and some extra products for aftercare. Honestly, why can’t they just email that? Calling folks during work hours just seems pushy and a bit dodgy to me. Felt a bit scam-like, to be honest.

I've recently made a purchase from Currys, and ever since, I've been inundated with calls. It's high time Currys looks into this! The number that's been ringing me is 01509 437111 from Loughborough, England. Something's amiss here!

It sounded like it was from Currys or PC World. I tried ringing back but there wasn’t any way to talk to a real person, seems like just one of those call centres pushing sales on you.

They called me but didn’t leave any message. I’m not gonna call back unless they tell me who they are or what they want. Feels like a total spam call!

Is Curry’s really that desperate now tryin to pull in some customers?? Doesn’t feel right, seems a bit sketchy to me at least.

Didn’t drop no voicemail. If it was something real, they’d have left a message for sure.

Just like what Jing Li mentioned, I received a call from this number as well, attempting to extract my details. They claimed it was something to do with data protection because I had made a purchase at Currys. Quite suspicious, don't you think?

Yep, looks like a typical PE World scam, nothing surprising.

Got a call from Currys/PC World supposedly checking up on my delivery. They were asking for quite a few personal things. I’d just placed an order myself, so now I’m worried that Currys might’ve shared my info with some other company who could be using it to trick folks.

I've received three calls from this number, all claiming to be from Curry's PC World, inquiring about an order I supposedly placed. They mentioned something about "data protection" and I ended up hanging up on them. It just doesn't add up, especially since we visited Curry's recently and didn't mention any orders. I reckon they ought to investigate this situation a bit more thoroughly. - Caller: PC World ?????

Had a really awkward call from some dodgy person trying to push aftercare for something I bought off Currys online. I've already got a complaint in with Currys cos it feels totally wrong, especially since they offer aftercare right when you buy the product. Properly annoyed with Currys for passing on my info to another company like that.

I received a call from this number, and they were fishing for my personal details. They claimed it was regarding data protection due to a recent purchase I made at Currys. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call from PC World about an order I never placed. They wanted to speak to someone called Ash, which I've no clue about. My number's on the do-not-call list, so I have no idea how they managed to ring me.

some guy called kevin claiming to be from currys pc world, saying he wanted to sort a repair or replacement for something i bought online. At first the number showed a sheffield area code, then suddenly switched to one from loughborough. when i asked about that he said their call centre's in loughborough and they redirect calls. he kept pushing me to give my bank info, address and full name, which felt dodgy, so i just cut it off and cancelled.

Someone called me offering parts and labour insurance for something I just bought from peiwvorid. They were really pushing me to decide on the spot (isn’t that meant to be against the rules?). I couldn’t even take the offer since it was a gift and the person getting it would have to insure it themselves as it can’t be transferred. Still, they kept insisting. Don’t like it when salespeople get all pushy - if I wanted insurance, I’d have asked when I bought it. It’s already got a guarantee anyway.

They were trying to push me into buying parts & labour insurance for something I’d just got from peiwvorid. Really pressured me to decide immediately (isnt that against the rules or something?) - I couldnt accept it anyway cos it was a present & the person getting it would have to sort their own insurance as it’s not transferable - but they still kept pushing. Hate it when sales folks are so pushy - if I wanted insurance I’d have asked then and there. Besides, it comes with a guarantee anyhow. Ended up just hanging up.

Got a call from Currys/PC World about some repair or replacement cover for an appliance I bought a little while ago. They called me before too, but that number was local, this time it came from a different, much less familiar one which seemed a bit odd to me.
