Since 20/04/2022, this is the 12th time I've got a call from someone claiming to be UK Debt Advisors. Every time, when I pick up, the call ends suddenly, this time after just 38 seconds. Definitely feels like a scam.

As soon as I answered, they just hung up. This is the 11th time I've gotten calls from this number but it's clearly spoofed. Total scam!

I reached out to what they advertised as UK debt advisory services, only to find that when I returned the call, a message stated they were closed. Oddly enough, it mentioned their hours were Friday from seven in the morning until half two. So, there I was, calling on a Friday at 1 PM, and lo and behold, they returned my call right away. I picked up, but to my astonishment, they just hung up on me! What a farce!

Got a recorded call from Get Freedom For You, the phone stopped ringing after about 15 seconds. This spoofed number rang me twice now. Definitely a scam.

Whenever I answer the phone, the call just disconnects straight away. Then, if I try ringing back, some lady picks up who sounds like she’s in a busy call centre - there’s loads of noise and people talking in the back. She even said she’s working from a call centre in India. Honestly, the best thing to do is just block the number.

Got a call from them trying to sell something. I paid £24 into the account 09-01-29 46491936. Then, after about two hours, I noticed I’d been refunded £37 instead. I tried sending £24 as a faster payment to that same account four times, and every time, exactly two hours later, I was given £37 back. After that, I decided to stop - wasn’t sure if I might get into any kind of trouble.

They rang me up trying to sell something. I sent £24 over to account 09-01-29 46491936. Weirdly, about two hours later, £37 came straight back into my account. I tried paying that £24 again, four times in total, and every time, exactly two hours after, I’d get £37 back! I decided to stop after that, didn’t want to end up in any kind of bother.

On 25/03 there were a few posts explaining how to block these scam calls for good. It’s a bit of a faff, but I’ve done it myself and keep sending scam texts and calls to the police database (I’ve got the address saved in my favourites). Thing is, it’ll only make a difference when thousands of us keep reporting them. Loads of folks report scam calls here daily. I even got a reply from my MP, which was somewhat encouraging, but seriously, one person raising the issue isn’t enough to change much.

Be careful, it's a scam! I’d suggest reporting any suspicious calls or messages. Just search for ‘action fraud’ on Google and head over to the official police.uk website. Find the section for reporting phishing and make sure to read all the info thoroughly. Then put in all the scam details straight onto their system, don’t forget to add any web links or addresses. This helps the police track how widespread these frauds really are.
