Just got a call from hmre, and it was a recorded message with a woman speaking in a strong American accent. She was basically threatening serious trouble if I didn’t ring her back straight away once the message finished. Definitely hang up and don’t respond! Her voice totally matched the scam call example they have on the hmre site.
