Got another call from a new number today, honestly lost track of how many different numbers have called me now.

Got a call from some Indian call centre pretending to be legit. The guy asked if I’d been getting spam calls and then tried to get my bank sort code. I called him out straight away, but he kept insisting he was the real deal! I ended the call, but then he rang me back immediately, still trying to prove he wasn’t scamming me. The number didn’t show up properly, just said “incoming call”, so I had to check it through 1471 to get the actual digits.

i had a pretty similar run-in with this - some people with a foreign accent calling, telling me to update my information. when i kept saying no and wouldn’t give them any details, they just ended the call. big thanks to everyone who shared their stories and cautions here, it made me sure i was doing the right thing by not sharing anything.

I got a call from a bloke from India asking if I'd been getting dodgy calls. Had this really pushy woman call me, sounded quite bossy and had a thick asian accent. She already knew my address and postcode, which I confirmed. Then she asked how my name shows up on my credit or debit card. I didn’t give her any info and she just got more insisty, even started shouting at one point. Honestly, good riddance to her!

Had a few calls today from someone sounding Indian, could hear a call centre buzzing in the background. They claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service and wanted to know how many marketing calls I’d been getting. Then they suddenly asked for my full name and the long number on my bank card to supposedly 'check records' and 'update my direct debit'. Definitely a scam! The real TPS service doesn’t cost a penny.

I reckon that number’s from Norfolk, but it’s not actually active. Got a couple of calls today from it, probably someone working inside or something. The voice sounded Indian or Pakistani, pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam call. Absolute rubbish.

I got a call from someone who sounded like they were from a call centre overseas, you could hear loads of noise in the background. I asked a couple of things and they just kept answering but in a weird way. Eventually, they just cut me off and ended the call. Strange experience!
