I listed my cousin's car on Gumtree and used my number for contact. Within about five minutes, I got calls from seven different numbers, all from another town, claiming I’d been in an accident. When I told them I don’t even have a car, they suggested maybe I was a passenger in one. When I denied that too, they asked if anyone in my family had been involved in an accident. It was really bizarre and a bit stressful!
