It seems that practically anyone working within the NHS can ring you, and the Caller Line Identification (CLI) will simply show their telephone number. Unfortunately, this leaves us in the dark regarding the identity of the caller. It’s much the same as when your local GP gets in touch from a private number. I suppose if they were to leave a message, that would be somewhat useful. The real question then becomes, what do we do after receiving that message? It largely hinges on the nature of the call, I guess. Yet, generally speaking, these callers typically aren’t looking for a follow-up conversation; their aim seems to be to tick off tasks from their to-do list, making it a rather one-sided affair.
